Where I started….
Growing up in an African household you’re trained to focus on your academics so you can make something out of your life. It’s like life is being scripted out for you the same cycle of academics, get a job and then get married with the surplus to produce more children.
Surely, there is more to life than just following the normal script of societal or environmental brainwashed lifecycle, which just seemed bizarre to me. I am not saying I have the answers but I found out that the desires of other’s for me were not mine to fulfil.
Discovering my own path was my job to fulfil on this journey called life. I have had my share of ups and downs be it with family, friends, career, finance, business, loss, grief, feel lost and share melt downs. I could go but all the experiences of life as thought me it’s the process of moulding me to who I am today.
Am not finished with life yet but filled with a mindset of gratitude for all the lessons learnt, which is a result of getting to know me better each day.
Where am going…
On the journey, of knowing myself is my service to help my readers and others to know the importance of learning and discovering themselves is their greatest asset to best be of service to others, which is gold to the planet.
I intend to carry you along with me on this journey of self-discovery of really knowing yourself in the rawest, scariest, and most intimate ways to fall in love with yourself daily. Falling in love with you is not an act of selfishness but an act of being self-aware and present for others in all areas of life.
The decision to start blogging my journey on filling my cup is birthed from being fed up and running myself down to hating everything about life. I mean everything I use to love doing I hate doing. I know the word “hate” is a strong word but maybe it’s the worn-out or depressed part of me typing.
I am keeping it one hundred with you all is my goal and hopefully this journey helps someone out there.
